Frances suffers from acute macular degeneration (AMD). Prior to the Low Vision Works program, her visual acuity was 20/500 in her better seeing eye. It took her ten minutes to read a standard text, and with only 56% accuracy. After the eight-week Low Vision Works process, Frances now sees 20/160 in her better eye - a 68% improvement. The same text that once took ten minutes to read, she now reads in six minutes, with 83% accuracy.

Marilyn also suffers from AMD. Before the Low Vision Works program, vision in her better seeing eye was 20/250. After the Low Vision Works program, her vision has improved by 60% to 20/100. Vision in her other eye improved from 20/300 to 20/125. Reading speed was increased by 67% and accuracy improved from 75% to 100%.
